Not a Runner Holy crap. I'm 30.

About Me

I'm not a runner. I see those runners out there, effortlessly galloping up and over hills, for miles and miles, with their cute little outfits. That's not me. Sure, I run. I've even been in a few races. But I'm not a "runner." I run to stay in shape and to be outdoors. I run because it eases my mind and relieves stress. I run because I just turned 30 and, let's face it, I need to start thinking about my heart, my bones, possibly an AARP membership, who knows what else. I run because it's my alone time. And I run because, even when I don't think I have the energy, I know I'll feel better. I know I'll feel like I accomplished something. And I need that. At the end of the day, I run because... well, you just read all the reasons.

  1. AO,
As always, fascinating to read what you write. Good luck tomorrow. Wish I could persuade myself to run regularly. But, I have a good excuse– two kids and no time.;)

  2. Not A Runner,
I read your blog! :) You have inspired me to run again. I am not a runner either. My neighbor is…you would think she would be an inspiration. Somehow a 56 year-old who routinely wins 5k’s and 10k’s and runs half marathons…is NOT an inspiration to me. She is a star, though!

    Say hello to J.
